The Yin/Yang Yoga class offers the participants the chance to experience the benefits of a balanced practice of the two complementary yoga styles of Yin and Yang. The Yang element uses a short, gentle flow of movements with muscular and energising exercises at the start of each session and creates an openness and feelings of equilibrium and well-being.

The Yin element takes up the rest of each session. This is a gentle, quiet and meditative practice aiming to teach and enhance relaxation. These are all floor exercises using sustained passive holds that relax the muscles and allow the deep connective tissues surrounding the hips, thighs, pelvis and spine to be gently stretched.

This mindful stretching is designed specifically to support and preserve joint, bone and connective tissue health and improve and maintain overall mobility. Participants are encouraged to relax physically and breathe deeply to permit the pull of gravity to assist in the stretches, thus aiding the free flow of energy and awareness of bodily sensations. Yin is a particularly useful practice for those who lead active lives, practise other active yoga styles or seek stillness within themselves.

Yin/Yang Yoga is absolutely beautiful way for participants to let go of the stress and tension of the day. This class is suitable for all levels.
